Vitamins occur more or less in most all organic materials. We may assume that if we ate enough of the right foods, we would get all types of vitamins we need. This assumption would probably be right. Here is the problem, many of us are not able to get this ideal diet.

Most restaurants nowadays tend to reheat food or try to keep it warm using the heat lamps. You may well run into the risk of Vitamins deficiencies if you often eat out or take out. In addition, a lot of our foods from the grocery stores are processed or genetically modified, lack of folic acid, magnesium and calcium is unavoidable. Most of the processed foods have been depleted in nutrients. For example, take breads and cereals that you can easily find in today's supermarket are high in nothing but carbohydrates.

According to a research from The National Malnutrition: “Everyone who has in the past eaten processed sugar, white flour, or canned food may have some deficiency disease, the extent of the disease depending on the percentage of such deficient food in the diet.". Furthermore, a study from a Journal of the American Medical Association reported that every adult should take a multiple vitamin because it is hard to obtain all the necessary nutrients in our today daily food intake.
